Final resting place to be moved

The late Rev. Paul J. Lisicky, who was interred on the grounds of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Lansford in 1955 shortly after his death will soon be moved to his second final resting place.

Family for the late priest, who served as pastor of St. Michael’s Church from May 1, 1912, to his death on July 23, 1955, have agreed to allow for his body to be moved from the Lansford property to St. Michael’s Old Cemetery in Summit Hill.

The Rev. Allen Hoffa, pastor of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley in Summit Hill, which all the churches of the Panther Valley merged into over the years, said that Lisicky will be moved, with the ornate headstone that was created for him, to the cemetery in Summit Hill after the sale of the building is finalized and the scaffolding removed.

Lisicky’s new final resting place will be located right near the memorial altar in the cemetery.
