The Palmerton Area School District Music Department will present the annual Winter Concert tonight in the high school auditorium.

The concert will feature the bands and choruses from the high school and the junior high, and will include a variety of music which will include seasonal and holiday songs.

Among the Junior High Band’s selections will be “Jingle Bell Rock,” a “How the Grinch Stole Christmas Medley” and “Deck the Halls with Chips and Salsa.”

The Junior High Chorus will follow with offerings including “Jingle Bell Boogie” and “A La Nanita Nana (with Coventry Carol).”

The High School Chorus portion of the program features songs including “Throw the Yule Log On,” “Uncle John,” “All Through the Night” and “Candle in Your Heart.”

The High School Band will go on last, performing, among others, “Silvercrest March,” “Blues for Santa,” “Sleigh Ride” and a very fun arrangement titled “A Rollicking Hannukah.”

The program will end with an audience singalong including all four ensembles and, of course, the audience. The concert starts at 7 p.m., is open to the public, and as always, admission is free.
