A rear-end collision in Hometown sent one person to the hospital early Wednesday.
According to those at the scene, a Kia Optima traveling south on Claremont Avenue, Route 309, collided with the rear of a southbound Dempsey Uniform and Linen Supply truck.
The crash took place about 9:30 a.m. just north of the Route 54/309 intersection, near the entrance to Turkey Hill Minit Market.
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital by the Tamaqua Community Ambulance.
Hometown Fire Company responded to the call of fluids down and Hometown fire police directed traffic at the scene.
In absence of manpower from the Rush Township Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police were summoned to investigate.
Lehighton Ambulance also responded.
