One injured in Lower Towamensing crash

One man was injured in a two-car crash early this morning in Lower Towamensing Township.

Aquashicola Fire Chief Bill George said the incident occurred just after 6 a.m. on Hahns Dairy Road when a dump truck from Costenbader’s Hauling pulled out in the path of an oncoming vehicle when then struck the dump truck.

George said the driver of the oncoming vehicle was transported by Palmerton Ambulance to Lehigh Valley Medical Center, though the extent of his injuries were unknown.

He said there were no injuries to the driver of the dump truck.

George said the dump truck sustained moderate damage, while the other vehicle was destroyed.

He said first responders were on scene for about an hour.

Also assisting at the scene were Lehighton State Police, Palmerton Ambulance, and Lehighton Advanced Life Support.

Lehighton State Police said the identities of the drivers couldn’t be released because the incident report has not yet been completed.

One young man was seriously injured this morning shortly in a crash after 6 a.m. along Hahns Dairy Road in Lower Towamensing Township. He was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
