A powerful line of storms caused damage through the region late Thursday, causing power outages, flooding and roads blocked by downed trees. At 10 p.m., emergency crews were summoned to Claremont Avenue, Route 309, in Hometown near Hometown Village Square for reports of “severe flooding” in the area. Also impacted were roads to the rear of the shopping center, including Cumberland Avenue. Buses in Pleasant Valley were late because of trees blocking roads this morning. DONALD R.
