Schuylkill under tornado watch; storms to move through area

A line of severe thunderstorms is expected to cross Central Pennsylvania, roughly between 5 and 10 p.m. Some areas will see damaging wind gusts of 60 to 80 mph along this line of storms. Given how strong the winds are in the lower levels of the atmosphere, isolated tornadoes are also a possibility.

Please stay tuned for the latest weather updates, including the likely issuances of watches and warnings later today.

A line of showers with embedded thunderstorms will move through the Carbon-Monroe area this evening into the early part of the overnight associated with a cold front. The potential exists for strong, damaging winds over 60 mph to occur in places as this line moves through. Given many

trees remain fully leafed, power outages are possible.
