Fourth annual RockToberfest this weekend in Lehighton

Bands and acoustic music, a beer and wine garden, and more rides than ever.

All of that and more adds up to what is expected to be two fun-filled days at Lehighton’s fourth annual RockToberfest.

Sponsored by the Lehighton Downtown Initiative, the event will be held from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday in the borough’s downtown parks.

The bar has been set high for this year’s event — which benefits breast cancer awareness — according to LDI treasurer Bambi Elsasser.

“Last year, we raised $3,600 for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition,” Elsasser said. “This year, we are hoping to increase (that) amount drastically.”

Elsasser said there will be bands and acoustic music played in both of the parks; a beer and wine garden, Shriners Car Show, huge basket raffle, crafters and vendors.

In addition, she said there will be more rides this year, games for everyone, a bingo tent, and new this year, yoga in the park, as well as self-defense classes the whole weekend.

Also, Elsasser said that trick-or-treating will be held for the little ones from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, and 4-6 p.m. Sunday.

“And don’t forget the food; join some of your favorite food vendors, as well as welcoming some new faces,” she said. “There will be a nice variety to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.”
