Schuylkill drivers involved in Lehigh County crashes

A Tamaqua driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Lehigh County on Saturday.

State police at Fogelsville said the crash occurred at 2:04 p.m. on Saturday along Kistler Road in Lowhill Township.

Troopers said Ruth A. Raber, 84, of New Tripoli, was turning right from Route 100 onto Kistler Road when she overcompensated, crossing her 2012 Chevrolet Silverado into the opposite lane. She collided with a 2014 Ford Fiesta driven by Michael Espenschied, 60, of Tamaqua.

No one was injured. The Fiesta was towed.

Troopers cited Raber for the crash.

In another crash involving a Schuylkill County driver, a crash was reported at 3:33 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the intersection of North Krocks Road and Route 222, in Lower Macungie Township. Troopers said Becky A. Robinson, 43, of New Philadelphia, was driving a 2002 Mercedes-Benz southbound and failed to observe a red traffic light at the intersection with Route 222. Kathryn M. Kravitz, 45, of Breinigsville, was driving a 2017 Audi Q7 and had the green light at the intersection. The front of the Audi hit the passenger side of the Mercedes.

Robinson and her passenger, Adriana J. Robinson, 22, of New Philadelphia, Kravitz and her passenger, an 11-year-old girl from Breinigsville, all were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, for treatment of minor injuries.

Troopers said Robinson is facing a driving under the influence charge as a result of the crash.
