Man charged with failing to register under Megan’s Law

A Lehighton man has been charged with failing to register under Megan’s Law.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by police officer Jeff Frace of the Mahoning Township Police Department:

On Aug. 9, police were notified that Larry Hadley, 56, lived on the 800 block of Jamestown Drive.

At 12:40 p.m. Aug. 10, Frace responded to the address in the 800 block of Jamestown Drive and spoke with Hadley, who said that he registered when he left prison last year, and he has not received any further notification regarding his registration. Hadley was last registered on Nov. 5, 2018, but due to a prior conviction, Hadley is required to register quarterly.

Hadley said he doesn’t get his mail at the address where’s staying. Police told him to contact state police to straighten out his registration.

As of Aug. 28, Hadley was still not in compliance with his registration requirements pertaining to Megan’s Law.

Hadley faces charges of failure to comply with registration of sexual offenders, and failure to comply with registration requirements.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Sept. 11 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
