Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met Aug. 13 at the Ryan Township Fire Company with 47 member in attendance. President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation “Summer.”

Eleanor Schmerfeld and Paul Randig were added to the sick list. August birthdays were celebrated for Bonnie Kachmar, Pat Valisac and Anthony Zahora.

Guest speaker Joan Breslin presented the benefits of using public transportation for seniors 65 years and older. Fixed route buses are free, and there is a charge for group trips.

The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville and is open to anyone 55 or older. The next meeting is Aug. 27.

Andreas VFW

VFW Post 5069 of Andreas will meet Sept. 11 at West Penn Community Park at 7 p.m. to discuss the upcoming dance.

The Post banquet will be held on Sept. 14 at Kneppers Inn at 6 p.m. Members, auxiliary and one guest are invited. Reservations must be made by Sept. 6. Checks should be made out the VFW Post 5069 and mailed to 2595 Summer Valley Road, New Ringgold, PA 17960. Cost is $20 per person.

A dance is scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 28, with music being provided by the Cramer Brothers. For more information and cost, call 570-386-5525.
