Dart League

Tamaqua Area Dart League will meet Aug. 26 at the East End Fire Company at 7:30 p.m. Any establishment wanting to join the league is urged to attend. Please bring a list of shooters and bar sponsor fee. This will be the last meeting before the league starts on Sept. 19. Any questions, please call league president, Tom McCarroll at 570-778-4241.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Aug. 15 at the Tamaqua YMCA with 49 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker opened the meeting with the reading “Counting Blessings.”

Paul Randig and Eleanor Schmerfeld were added to the sick list.

There is a trip scheduled to Mohegan Sun Casino on Aug. 26.

The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the YMCA. The next meeting will be held on Aug. 22.

Summer Concert

The next installment in the summer concert series, sponsored by M&T Bank, will feature Gunslinger, playing a unique blend of classic rock and outlaw country, on Aug. 22 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Summer Concert Series is a function of the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce. Please do not contact the Train Station Restaurant or The Station Creamery.

Primitive Methodist

The Rev. Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in American Primitive Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are held at 9;30 a.m.

A Bible study on the book of Revelation will be continuing at 6 p.m. on Aug. 27 in the main Sunday school room.

Hope in the Mountains meetings are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. This is a Nar-Anon Family Group. For more information, call 570-952-5098.

Klein Family Fundraiser

Poker Run, basket raffle and spaghetti dinner are scheduled for Aug. 24 at the West Penn Rod and Gun Club. Basket raffle from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kickstands up at 11 a.m. for the poker run.
