Penn’s Peak hosts wine weekend

Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe will host its annual Mountain Wine Festival Saturday and Sunday.

Enjoy a variety of flavors and samplings from eight area wineries at this always popular festival.

Wineries that will be set up include Shade Mountain, Tolino Vineyards, Black River Farms, Blue Mountain Vineyards, The Winery at Wilcox, Vynecrest Vineyards, Naylor Wine Cellars, Soaked Winery and Franklin Hill Vineyards.

The event starts at noon both days and runs until 5 p.m.

While sipping on samples, festivalgoers can also enjoy live entertainment.

On Saturday, Mother Nature’s Sons performs from noon to 2:30 p.m. and Dina Hall with Andy Kilcoyne takes the stage from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

On Sunday, The Mighty Two perform from noon to 2:30 p.m. and Leighann and Company from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at http://mountain-wine-festival.eventcreate.com; at any of the participating wineries or at the door the day of the event. Part of the proceeds from the event will go to scholarships to future winemakers and viticulturists.

Must be 21 or older to attend.

Penn’s Peak is located at 325 Maury Road.
