The second of three Carbon County inmates who failed to return to the county prison after their days at work through the work release program has been apprehended.

Nesquehoning police Chief Sean Smith said Thursday morning that Dylan Brett Danko, 27, of North First Street, Lehighton was picked up by Hazleton police Wednesday and transported back to Carbon County.

He will be arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek on a felony escape charge, which could carry up to an additional seven years in prison on the charge.

Danko failed to return to the jail after work on June 10. It was his first day out on work release.

According to an affidavit filed by Nesquehoning patrolman Timothy Wuttke in June, he spoke with another work release inmate, who said that Danko requested to use his phone to call his girlfriend at the end of the work day. Danko then left the business he was working at and never returned.

Police attempted to locate Danko but was unable to do so.

Fellow inmate Terry L. Phillips Jr., 44, of East Water Street, Lansford, who walked away from his job while on work release on May 21, turned himself in to the prison last week.

He was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Homanko Sr. of Weatherly on July 8 and waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday. His case regarding the escape charge has been transferred to Carbon County court.

A third inmate, David William Ackley, 27, of Mahoning Township, remains at large.

Ackley failed to report back to the Carbon County Correctional Facility on July 9.
