Man charged with rape faces more charges

Additional charges have been brought against a Frackville man already charged with repeatedly raping a child two decades ago.

This time, David Paul Hunsicker Jr., 53, has been charged with indecent assault for an alleged incident that occurred nearly four decades ago.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Lee Marzen of the Jim Thorpe Police Department:

On June 25, Marzen received a walk-in complaint to the police station from a woman who said that she had contact with Hunsicker in 1979 or 1980.

The victim said that was near her home on South Avenue, which was in the same area of Hunsicker’s family garage on the 600 block of South Avenue.

She said that sometime when she was 9 or 10 years old, Hunsicker had exposed himself to her and asked her to touch his private area, but that she didn’t know what to do, so she did.

Hunsicker then asked her to show him her private area, but she said she was scared and didn’t know what to do, so she complied.

She said that right after she did so, Hunsicker asked her to join his “sex club” which he told her was behind the Bus Road, but that she told him no.

On July 8, Marzen attempted to interview Hunsicker at the Carbon County Correctional Facility and told him the reason he wanted to speak with him.

Hunsicker said that he didn’t want to talk to Marzen.

Hunsicker faces charges on two counts of indecent assault and one count of indecent exposure.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing July 24 before Magisterial District Judge Edward M. Lewis of Jim Thorpe.

Last month, Jim Thorpe police charged Hunsicker with repeatedly raping a child two decades ago.

In that case, Hunsicker allegedly assaulted the victim on multiple occasions between 1992-96 at a home on the 200 block of North Avenue.

At the time, the victim was between 5-9 years old and a Jim Thorpe resident.

The reported assaults occurred in a home on the 200 block of North Street.

In April, the victim came forward and met with Jim Thorpe Police and said Hunsicker had raped her. She said the assaults took place in the attic, basement and storage area of the home.
