The Times News/Lehigh Valley Health Network Athletes of the Year award ceremony was held Wednesday, July 10 at Penn’s Peak. Female recipients included, front row from left, Jules Lopez, Pleasant Valley (lacrosse), Maggie Motolese, Northwestern (soccer), Emily Akelaitis, Northwestern (softball), Reagan Pender, Northern Lehigh (cross country); back row, Lydia Wallace, Jim Thorpe (track and field), Karissa Hough, Lehighton (field hockey), Jenna Dubosky, Panther Valley (volleyball) and Leanne Van Essendelft, Jim Thorpe (tennis).
