Park bathroom vandalized in Weatherly

Weatherly police need the public’s help to find the person responsible for vandalizing a borough park building during the Fourth of July holiday.

Police posted on Facebook at 4 p.m. on Thursday that someone had vandalized the men’s bathroom at Eurana Park with graffiti.

Mayor Tom Connors said that he is angry by the disrespectful act, noting that the graffiti looks like it was first done in nail polish and then scratched into the bathroom stall paint.

“The residents take pride in the community, and this nonsense isn’t going to be tolerated,” he said, adding that if the person is caught, they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Connors commended the police department for being on top of the matter and commended the park manager for the excellent job he is doing at the park.

For now, the graffiti will be cleaned up and things will continue as normal.

“Visitors are welcome, but please respect our park,” Connors said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Weatherly police at 570-427-4241.
