4-H summer camps

Penn State Extension announces 4-H Day camps for the summer. Sponsored by Lehigh County 4-H, the camps are open to all boys and girls ages 8-18. Snacks are provided, but please bring a packed lunch.

The cost is $10 for 4-H members and $30 for non 4-H members. Camps will be held at the Lehigh County Ag Center, 4184 Dorney Park Road, Allentown.

Upcoming camps:

• Stop the Invasion!, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 11: Learn about stink bugs, the spotted lanternfly, feral swine, and more.

• 4-H Food Challenge, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 25: Learn about healthy food choices, proper cooking techniques and food safety. There will be an opportunity to compete at the regional level.

• Engineering Design Challenge, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 8: Simple machines and physics in the world of engineering will be explored. There will be an opportunity to compete at the regional level.

• Sketchbook Crossroads, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 15: Explore art through color, pattern, shadows and more.

• Ag Explorers, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 22: Where does the food on someone’s plate come from? That question and more will be answered as the world of agriculture will be explored.
