Keer earns First Team All-MEC honors at Shepherd

Marian graduate Daniel Keer earned First Team All-MEC honors for his play for the Shepherd University baseball team this past spring.

Keer appeared in 33 games, making 28 starts, and batted .337 with 33 hits in 98 at-bats. Keer drove in 20 runs and scored 24, adding nine doubles and two home runs.

He was also was 1-of-1 in stolen base attempts, and posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in one chance.

Keer had a season-high four hits and three runs scored against West Virginia St. on March 24. The sophomore knocked in three runs against Millersville on March 19.

The Rams finished the season with a 36-17 record. Shepherd was eliminated from the MEC Tournament with a 13-10 loss to Notre Dame College.

In 2018, Keer appeared in 15 games with one start, and batted .294 with five hits in 17 at-bats, with three RBIs five runs scored and one home run.

Keer was the 2017 Times News Baseball Player of the Year, and helped the Colts win back-to-back District 11 2A titles.
