Rottet caps career at Kutztown

Tamaqua graduate Bo Rottet recently completed his baseball career at Kutztown University.

Rottet scored his 100th career run for the Golden Bears this past season, leading the way in RBIs (24), home runs (two) and slugging percentage (.410), while tying for the team lead with eight doubles, 32 hits and one triple. He was second on the team in batting average (.274) and third in runs (16), on-base percentage (.351) and stolen bases (three).

Rottet had a season-high three hits, two doubles and three runs scored against Lock Haven. He notched a season-best three RBIs against Millersville.

Off the field, Rottet was named to the Dean’s List at Kutztown eight times and was honored as a PSAC Scholar-Athlete on three ocassions. Rottet earned the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award twice during his career.

Rottet finished his career with a .293 batting average, 102 runs scored, 33 doubles, five triples, four home runs, 74 RBIs, a .394 slugging percentage and a .389 on-base percentage. He played in 172 games during his career, making 169 starts.

Rottet was the 2014 Times News Baseball Player of the Year as a junior, and was a member of back-to-back District 11 Class 3A championship teams at Tamaqua.
