A look back: May 29, 1969

The appointment of Dr. Paul S. Christman of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Weissport, to the State Board of Education, has been confirmed by the State Senate.

Dr. Christman, retired superintendent of the Schuylkill Haven School District, attended Moravian Preparatory School, Bethlehem, and graduated from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, in 1919.

He received his master of science degree in 1921 and was presented an honorary doctorate by the college in 1950.

He is a past president of the eastern region of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and served on the association’s legislative committee for several years.
