An Earth Day event will be held at Tuscarora State Park Visitor Center, in Barnesville, starting at 9:30 a.m. on May 18.

Activities will range from litter pickup to trail maintenance and landscaping. Thousands of people enjoy Tuscarora State Park every year. Residents are asked to gather family and friends and join in the spring cleanup. There will be something for everyone.

All tools and supplies will be provided. Pack a bag lunch and enjoy a beautiful day in the outdoors as participants do their part to help the environment. The focus this year will be trail maintenance on Spirit Trail. Volunteers should be able to hike 3 to 5 miles to access the trail. The area experienced significant flood damage last season.
