One flown from Summit Hill crash

One person was flown from a crash Monday afternoon in Summit Hill.

The crash occurred about 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 902 and East White Bear Drive in the village of White Bear.

According to reports on the scene, a woman was traveling west on East White Drive and apparently failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with a southbound car on Route 902.

The woman’s car came to rest in a field, while the southbound car came to rest on West White Bear Drive facing east.

The driver of the second car was airlifted from the scene by medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley hospital trauma center in Allentown.

The Summit Hill fire Company responded.

The victims were treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics.

Summit Hill police are investigating the incident, assisted by Lansford and Jim Thorpe police.
