2019 primary election: Semmel announces her candidacy for Carbon County prothonotary

Kayla Semmel announces her candidacy for Carbon County prothonotary and will be running as the Republican candidate.

Kayla is running on a platform of commitment, leadership and integrity. She is dedicated to being an active member of the county and plans to create an environment that is inviting to the community in the Prothonotary’s Office.

Kayla Semmel is a lifelong resident of Carbon County and currently resides there with her husband, Daniel Semmel, and their daughter Zaviah. Kayla Semmel is a graduate from Moravian College, where she was the poverty programs and community service coordinator. She was also the parliamentarian for a community services-based organization at the college.

She spent her professional career as a teacher at a private mental health facility in Carbon County. Semmel believes her experiences with families of diverse backgrounds will be an asset to the Prothonotary’s Office and adds to the leadership qualities that she plans to bring to the office to better serve the families of Carbon County.

Semmel plans to use her education and teaching experience to bring innovation to the office to provide efficacy to better serve the families in the county.

When asked why she was seeking this position, Semmel said, “It is time to bring a positive change to the office. My time as an educator allowed me to see the need for younger generations to get involved in their community. I plan to create a working environment that is inviting to the community. I want the members of our county to feel welcomed when they come into the office. I’m committed to the families in Carbon County, and it would be an honor to serve them.”
