Wing night

Wing Night will be held at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, 259 Lime St., Bowmanstown from 6-9 p.m. Thursday.

Palmerton pool

The Palmerton Memorial Park Pool will open for the season May 25 at 1 p.m. The second discount period will expire April 30. This will be the last date before the regular season rates go into effect.

Photography show

A Photography Show will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave. Come and view photos from local photographers. Enjoy delicious snacks provided by the Friends of the Library. For information, call the library at 610-826-3424.

Gaming Grotto

Gaming Grotto is open to the public and is hosted by Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 N. Third St., Palmerton. The event is held the first and third Friday of each month. For the month of May, the dates will be from 7 to 11 p.m. May 3 and 17. This is a free gaming lounge where people can build relationships through the gaming culture. Have gaming systems of all kinds and board games. Refreshments available for a small fee.

Al-Anon groups

Al-Anon family groups meet at different locations in the Palmerton/Bowmanstown areas.

Alateen Support Group for teens of family struggling with alcohol meets at Faith Alive United Methodist Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Adult Al-Anon and AA meetings take place at the same time. Call 570-730-8601 for more information.

Courage to Change Al-Anon Family Group meets at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. For more information, call 570-861-4928.

Food pantry

The Food Pantry for Palmerton area families in need will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton on Friday. The CACPAC-sponsored pantry serves households in Palmerton, Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships, and the Palmerton Area School District including Bowmanstown.

The Palmerton Food Bank is always in need of canned goods, nonperishable food items and monetary donations. Most churches collect on a regular basis.

Medicare seminar

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive., Trachsville, will be hosting a two-hour educational seminar concerning Medicare and supplemental insurance options from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Joseph Henry of Independence Insurance will give a PowerPoint presentation, showing all the options that are available and will answer any questions. Everyone is welcome.
