Fund for Carbon County grant deadline is April 30

Nonprofit organizations serving Carbon County are invited to apply online now through April 30 for consideration for a grant from the Fund for Carbon County. The fund is the discretional assets of the foundation, from which more than $44,000 in grants have been awarded to area community organizations since 2016.

Incorporated in 2015, the Carbon County Community Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for all residents of the region, now and forever, by understanding community needs, giving grants to meet those needs, and helping community members create their own funds to support the causes that matter most to them.

The Fund for Carbon County was created through the support of the organization’s founders: Bill and Penny Allison, Chris and Sheri Anthony, Joe and DebraKay Bennet, Tiffani and Jim Christman, Tina and John Dowd, Dr. Michael Everett, Mark and Pam Fludgate, Steve and Colette Kresge, Richard and Darlene Nothstein, RF Ohl, and Marshall Walters.

Carbon Community Foundation is still seeking founders and looking to expand representation on its board of directors to include community members from the western and northern parts of the county; the foundation also seeks to engage professional advisers (attorneys, bankers, financial advisers, etc.) whose understanding and support is crucial to the success of their mission.
