Fire companies from Mahoning Township and Lehighton were dispatched Thursday morning to a dwelling fire in Mahoning Township. The fire was reported at 9:30 a.m. at a home in the 100 block of Beaver Run Drive near Flagstaff Road. Mahoning Township police were the first on scene reporting smoke in the residence. The incident was centered in the basement area of the dwelling. Firefighters were on scene for an hour. Lehighton and Mahoning fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
