Lehighton’s Hiester to play football at Lycoming

Lehighton’s Dakota Hiester will continue his academic career and play football at Lycoming College.

Hiester is a four-year member of the Tribe’s varsity squad, playing defensive tackle and guard.

The senior was one of Lehighton’s four team captians, and capped his career with several accolades in his final season.

Hiester was picked for the Schuylkill County Football Coaches Associoation All Star Game. He was named Most Valuable Lineman, as voted by the coaches, and also garned the Sportsmanship Award.

A three-year all-league lineman, Hiester is also a candidate for the Blue-Grey All America Bowl.

In addition to football, Hiester has also spent three years on the Indians’ track and field team, and two as a member of the basketball program.

Hiester is also involved in SADD, National Honor Society and the Red Cross at Lehighton.

The son of Dave and Lynnette Hiester, Dakota will study engineering and physics at Lycoming.
