Outreach auction

Effort UMC is hosting its Missions Outreach auction at 6 p.m. April 6.

Maintenance workshop

Homeowner associations and homeowners are encouraged to attend a Dirt and Gravel Road Maintenance Workshop hosted by the Monroe County Conservation District from 9 to 11 a.m. April 13. It will include a leisurely pictorial tour of erosion on driveways and how to fix it.

Light snacks and beverages will be provided.

Time will be allotted after the program for attendees’ site-specific questions. Bring photos if one has them is the request. Space is limited, so call 570-629-3060 now. Limit is four reservations per HOA/POA.

The event is sponsored by the Monroe County Conservation District Dirt Gravel and Low Volume Road Program.

Rain barrels

The Monroe County Conservation District is now accepting orders for rain barrels through April 17. Pickup will be between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. April 27 at the Monroe County Earth Day celebration, held at the Monroe Campus of Northampton County Community College in Tannersville.

Each barrel is made in Pennsylvania from recycled 58-gallon olive barrels, with brass fittings and an easy open screened lid. Barrels do not need to be hard fit and are easy to install. Save rain, save money and help conserve water by ordering a barrel today.

Jesus trip

St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, will be going on a bus trip to Sight & Sound to see Jesus on June 4. The price of the ticket includes the show, buffet, bus and driver’s tip.

Conservation camp

The Monroe County Conservation District is currently accepting applications for the 44th Monroe County Conservation Camp, held at Stony Acres Wildlife Sanctuary/Recreational Facility. Conservation Camp is a residential camp for teens ages 14 through this year’s high school graduate being held from July 20 through July 27.

The applicable application fee must be paid by the student and included with the application. The camp fee may be paid by the student, a sponsoring organization, or by a scholarship. A limited amount of scholarships are available by request.
