Environmental education center hosts photo contest

Carbon County Environmental Education Center’s annual photo contest is underway.

The goal of the contest was to inspire photographers to get outside and capture images that fit the theme and maybe discover parts of Carbon County like never before.

This year’s theme is “Carbon County” and allowed photographers to use their imaginations and capture the beauty of the county. Photographers’ entries needed to fit the three categories: macro, landscape and wildlife. Awards will be given in those categories.

Judging for the contest is now taking place at the center, located at 151 E. White Bear Drive, Summit Hill. Visitors can come see the photographs and vote for their favorites.

The contest runs through the end of the month and is available for viewing between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Photo entries fill the walls at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center in Summit Hill. Visitors can vote for their favorites until the end of March. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
