On Feb. 1, a confidential informant contacted Andrew Heminitz, 38, of the 500 block of Fairview Avenue, by cellphone to arrange a purchase of marijuana.

The confidential informant bought from Heminitz, and the marijuana field tested positive.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by patrolman William Borst of the Slatington Borough Police Department:

At 10:55 p.m. March 3, Borst received a walk-up complaint at police headquarters from the victim, who said she was assaulted by her boyfriend at their shared residence.

The victim said that she was assaulted multiple times by Heminitz, who she said smashed her cellphone and Samsung Galaxy tablet computer to stop her from contacting the police or family members.

She said Heminitz later pushed her through a glass shower door, making a cut above her left eye. She said he head-butted her in the left side of her head, which caused her to momentarily black out.

The victim said Heminitz then kicked a garbage can in her direction, which hit cut her leg.

The woman had swelling, redness and bruising on the left side of her face, as well as a cut above her left eye.

Borst, as well as officer Stephen Kiefer, responded to the home in an attempt to locate Heminitz, but he fled from the residence.

At 1:09 a.m. March 4, Borst and Kiefer were again dispatched to the home for the report of Heminitz taking the victim’s vehicle without her permission.

Heminitz also faces charges of simple assault, harassment, criminal mischief, and unauthorized use of automobiles and other vehicles.

On those charges, he is incarcerated on $10,000 straight bail.

Heminitz is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. March 13 in Allentown Central Court.
