McAdoo police report on arrests

McAdoo Police released information on several recent cases.

• Jessica Weiner, 48, of McAdoo, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol for an incident on Feb. 9. Police were on patrol on West Blaine Street when they saw Weiner driving a vehicle in reverse at 12:38 a.m. As she backed up, at an angle, she struck and knocked down a parking meter pole. She admitted drinking “a little bit” and had no knowledge of damaging the pole. Blood test results show she had a .17 percent blood alcohol level, twice the legal limit of .08. She was also cited for careless driving.

• William Ward, 56, of McAdoo visited the McAdoo Police Station at 6:50 a.m. on Feb. 11, asking officers if they were familiar with the appearance of methamphetamine. When he received a positive reply, he showed them a plastic bag in the center console of his truck, asking if it was meth. The answer was yes, at which point Ward told the officer he thought he was being set up by a neighbor. When he admitted the truck had been locked and there were no signs of tampering, police charged Ward with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Nicholas Caputo, 38, of McAdoo, was cited for retail theft after failing to pay for a box of Tostino’s Pizza Rolls on Feb. 13. Caputo entered the Fegley Mini Mart before 7 p.m. and began picking up some items. He took the box of pizza rolls, opened it, ate the contents, then threw away the box. He did pay for several items, but not the food he ate. Total value of the stolen items is $1.89.

• Zachary Brinson, 20, of McAdoo, was picked up on an outstanding warrant at 7:35 p.m. Feb. 27. The warrant was for failure to appear in court to answer to criminal mischief charges. He was transported to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.

• Reginald Thomas II, 39, of McAdoo, was charged with harassment after a domestic dispute on Feb. 23. Officers were called to the 500 block of South Kennedy Drive at 3:15 p.m., where they met with a woman, who said Thomas shoved her off a chair during an argument. The shove caused her to fall off the chair.
