Tamaqua domestic results in jail time

A Tamaqua man is in the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville after a domestic incident on Feb. 8.

Police were called to a Market Street home around midnight for a domestic assault in progress. They spoke with the female victim, who said her boyfriend James Charles Tringone, 37, of Tamaqua, had assaulted her.

Her report states they were at a local bar when Tringone became angry that she was standing at the bar next to another man. He grabbed the other man by the throat, tossed him to the floor and wrestled with him until several others broke up the fight. As Tringone left the bar, she followed, asking him for her keys. He tossed them into nearby shrubs.

After recovering her keys, she went home. As she entered, he came out of a closet, carrying a rifle. He then kicked her, pulled her hair and slammed her to the floor. He continued to punch her in the face and kick her in the stomach. As he left the house, he threatened to kill her.

The victim had obvious injuries to the left side of her neck, face and eye, along with a large lump on her head and bruises to her back.

Tringone was arraigned before duty District Magistrate David Plachko on charges of making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. Bail was set at $25,000 straight cash, which he was unable to post.
