The Northwestern boys’ and girls’ basketball teams picked up wins against Pen Argyl on Wednesday.

The Jim Thorpe and Tamaqua girls also grabbed wins, while Panther Valley earned a victory in wrestling action.

Pen Argyl-Northwestern

Northwestern knocked off Pen Argyl 50-41 for a Colonial League victory.

Devin Thomas paced the Tigers with a 14-point performance, while Sam Seyfried netted 10.

Jordan DeFelice finished with nine points for the Green Knights (3-19).

Northwestern improves to 12-10 overall and 10-7 in the league.

Pocono Mountain West rolled to a 77-43 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.

Eddie Germosan led four Panthers (12-10) in double figures with 19 points. Rafael Valentin tallied 16 points, while Jason Walker and Ishyne Pilgrim added 10 apiece.

Andrius Harrison-Gaddist netted eight points for the Bears (2-20).

The Tigers’ Alexandra Lister finished with a game-high 16 points, while Emily Sekerak and Sage Christopher ended up with 12 and 10, respectively.

Northwestern moves to 19-3 overall and 14-3 in the CL.
