The Northwestern boys and girls basketball teams posted wins over Catasauqua Tuesday.

The victory for the boys clinched a district playoff berth.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lehighton-Tamaqua

Lucas Gregoire poured in a game-high 20 points to lead Tamaqua to a 62-48 Schuylkill League win over Lehighton.

The victory lifted the Blue Raiders to 15-5 overall and 9-3 in the league. They remain tied with Blue Mountain for the Division 1 wild-card berth.

Brayden Knoblauch contributed 13 points to the victory, while Derian Stianche added 10.

For the Indians (6-14; 4-8), Addison Howland scored a team-high 19 points. Ben Schatz chipped in with eight.

Catasauqua-Northwestern

Northwestern clinched a district playoff berth by gaining a 63-49 Colonial League win over Catasauqua.

Devin Thomas hit for a game-high 27 points to lead the Tigers (11-10; 9-7), who had built an 11-point halftime lead.

Northwestern also received 15 points from Sean McCann and eight from Sam Seyfried.

Palmerton-Northern Lehigh

Northern Lehigh rallied from a halftime deficit to gain a 69-62 Colonial League victory over rival Palmerton.

Preston Kemery scored a game-high 30 points for the Bulldogs, who trailed by eight points at the break.

Nolehi (15-7; 11-6) also received 14 points from AJ Berger and 10 from Brandon Hess.

For the Blue Bombers, who dropped to 11-10 overall and 8-8 in the league, Nate Dougherty had a team-high 20 points. Justin Hosier added 18, and Kody Kratzer tallied 13.

A big second half helped Pine Grove rally for a 75-52 Schuylkill League victory over Panther Valley.

Jordan Pena scored 16 points to pace the Cardinals, who trailed by seven points at halftime.

Rene Figueroa had 22 points to lead Panther Valley (13-7; 6-7).

Blue Mountain used the middle frames to pull away from Jim Thorpe for a 57-26 Schuylkill League victory.

Gavin Conway scored a game-high 14 points for the Eagles, who outscored the Olympians by a 33-10 margin in the second and third frames.

Tyler Burak and Zach Searfoss each scored five points for Thorpe (9-12; 4-9).

Tamaqua-Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain swept Tamaqua in a Schuylkill League meet.

The Blue Raiders swept the diving event, getting wins from Ashley Jones and Billy Shilko. Kayla Sherry captured the 100 breaststroke for the Tamaqua girls (7-6), who dropped a 123-57 decision.

The boys (3-10) lost by a 136-41 score.
