State Police at the Monroe barracks released information on several recent traffic crashes. Three of the incidents took placed on Interstate 80.

• On Jan. 25, at 11:17 a.m., a Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling east on I-80, in Jackson Township, when a chunk of ice fell from the top of the trailer, striking the windshield of a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The ice caused several cracks in the passenger side windshield, but there were no injuries. The Nissan’s driver was able to give troopers information to identify the driver of the big rig.

When contacted on Jan. 30, the driver of the rig said he checked the truck before driving and didn’t see any ice on the top.

• At 4:23 p.m., a 2005 Silverado and a 2019 Volvo were traveling east on I-80 in Hamilton Township when the pickup left the right lane, spun 360 degrees and entered the left lane. The driver of the Volvo was unable to stop and struck the Silverado.

The truck sustained damage to its rear bumper while the car had damage to the passenger side.

There were no injuries.

The driver of the Silverado was charged with driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

At 5:32 p.m., a 2014 Honda Accord was traveling north on Route 33 in Hamilton Township, when the driver lost control due to snow-covered road conditions. The Honda slid into the guide rail, causing minor damage.
