Scott Wayne Smith, 52, of New Tripoli, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 8:26 p.m. Saturday in the 6700 block of Oswald Road in Lynn Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said they were called there for the crash and observed Smith trying to leave the scene after his vehicle was pulled out of the snow by a passer-by. A traffic stop was conducted during which time Smith exhibited indicators of impairment, police said.

He was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said the charges are pending further investigation of the incident.
