Domestic incidents in McAdoo

Police in McAdoo responded to two domestic assaults recently.

A domestic assault in McAdoo on Jan. 24 led to the arrest of Jeremiah Justofin, 28.

Police were called to an East Blaine Street residence at 7:20 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. They spoke with the victim, who said she and Justofin had been arguing when Justofin broke a vacuum and threw a piece of it at her. He also pushed her and grabbed her face. Officers noted a wound to her lip area.

Justofin was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. Bail was set at $10,000 straight, which he was unable to post.

He was lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.

A McAdoo woman was taken to the Schuylkill County Prison after a domestic assault in the borough on Jan. 28.

Officers went to an East Grant Street residence at 7:55 a.m. and found the victim with fingernail marks on her forearm and a clump of her hair on the floor. The assailant was identified as Francheska Lamanna, 28, who appeared to be intoxicated.

She became violent when officers tried to take her into custody, flailing her arms and kicking. She was taken to the ground and secured before being driven to the office of District Magisterial Judge Stephen Bayer for arraignment on charges of simple assault and harassment.

Bail was set at $10,000 percentage, which she was unable to post.

On the trip to the Schuylkill County Prison, Lamanna caused damage to the interior of the police cruiser. She faces additional charges.
