Two people have died as a result of separate crashes in Monroe County Friday night.

One person has died as a result of a two-vehicle crash that occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Route 715 and Mountain Springs Drive in Jackson Township, Monroe County.

A female student from Pocono Mountain East School District died in the emergency room at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg.

She was a passenger in a vehicle driving south on Route 715. 

The driver of that vehicle was also transported to Lehigh Valley Pocono in East Stroudsburg. No further information was released on the driver.

The driver of the other vehicle was also transferred to Lehigh Valley Pocono in East Stroudsburg.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Police continue to investigate.

Just after 11 p.m. Friday, a man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Wooddale Road and Georginna Drive in the Wooddale section of East Stroudsburg, Monroe County.

Anthony R. Spann, 21, of East Stroudsburg was traveling north on Wooddale Road when he lost control and went into the woods. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in his car was airlifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.

An autopsy is set for him on Monday.
