Franklin Twp. leadership remains the same as 2018

Franklin Township’s board of supervisors retained Jason Frey as board chairman at the reorganization meeting Monday.

Supervisor Robin Cressley was reappointed as board vice chairman, with Brenda Neeb reappointed as secretary-treasurer. Christine Green will remain as assistant secretary-treasurer.

Other appointments were:

• Cressley, roadmaster and road foreman

• Jason Doll, police chief

• Attorney William Schwab, township solicitor

• Attorney Jenny Cheng, zoning hearing board solicitor

• Paul Jarrett, zoning officer and BOCA Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Officer

• Scott Bieber, of Lehigh Soils and Wetlands, sewage enforcement officer, with Steve Gitch and Charyn Ayoub, alternate sewage enforcement officers

• ARRO Consulting Inc., township engineer for sewage

• Carbon Engineering, Gregory Haas, Michael Tirpak, township engineer for general purposes, with Keystone Consulting Engineers as alternate.

• Larry Diehl, emergency management coordinator

• Howard Boehringer, vacancy board member

• Matthew Neeb, planning commission member, five-year term

• Michael Quinn, new planning commission member, to fulfill vacancy left by the resignation of Paul Kocher, whose term is due to expire Dec. 31.

• Kevin Strunk, zoning hearing board, three-year term

• Robin Cressley, representative, and Barbara Beltz, alternate representative, to the Carbon County Council of Governments

• Open records officers: Jason Doll, police department; Brenda Neeb, township administration office, and Christine Green, administration office

• Brenda Neeb, representative, and Christine Green, alternate representative, to the Carbon County Tax Committee, one-year term

• Lynn Diehl, municipal authority member, five-year term

• Rod Green, property maintenance appeals board, one-year term, to fulfill the empty seat due to the resignation of board member Paul Kocher’s term.

• Jason Frey, representative to the Carbon County Solid Waste Advisory Committee

• Barbara Beltz, township advisory recreation and parks board, five-year term

• Joseph Connaughton, township advisory recreation and parks board, to fulfill the term of prior board member Rod Green.

• Robert Correll, township advisory recreation and parks board, to fulfill the term of prior board member David Hawk (Lions’ Club representative).

• Dennis Bauchspies, canal commission representative

• Set the limit of the treasurer’s bond at $500,000

• Approved the schedule of township meetings for 2019 to be at 6:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month.

• Approved the setting of wages of nonunion and nonuniformed employees, full-time, part-time, with a 3-percent increase.

• Set daily fees for storage at $40 per day.

• Set travel allowance (IRS standard business mileage is now 58 cents per mile).

• Approved the township volunteer fire company’s 2019 planned activity list, weekly training drills on every Monday evening; regular monthly meeting to be held the second Tuesday of each month; and unscheduled work details that will be held from time to time; (all meeting events will be held at the township fire company)

• Approved the Pohopoco Rod and Gun Club’s 2019 monthly meeting dates to be held the third Wednesday of each month (meetings are held at the township administrative office), on Jan. 16, Feb. 20, March 20, April 17, May 15, June 19, July 17, Aug. 21, Sept. 18, Oct. 16, Nov. 20, and December (to be announced).

• Appointed Buckno Lisicky & Co. PC-CPA, in place of the elected auditors to examine all township accounts for 2018.

• Appointed alternate members Angela Stehle and Barbara Cahill to the township zoning hearing board for a term of three years each.

• Approved the township Per Capita Tax Exoneration Lists from Sara Keiser, tax collector, for the year of 2018.

• Hired Shawn Yeakel as a full-time laborer (retroactive to Jan. 2).
