2 injured in Nesquehoning crash

Two people were injured in a head-on crash near Cemetery Road in Nesquehoning. At 4 p.m. Monday, Nesquehoning and Jim Thorpe fire companies, along with Lehighton ALS, were dispatched to Route 209 near Cemetery Road in Nesquehoning for a two-vehicle crash caused by slick conditions.

The two vehicles collided and spun off causing one vehicle to hit head-on into the guide rail and the other vehicle to come to rest further down the road at the bottom of an embankment. A young male patient was taken to St. Luke's Miners campus and an elderly female patient was taken to St. Luke’s Gnaden Huetten campus.
