Woman who didn’t show for jail picked up on shoplifting charges

A Hazleton woman wanted for failure to report for a jail sentence in Schuylkill County sits in the Lehigh County Jail after being picked up for shoplifting at a Target store in Allentown.

Kasey Koldesko, 28, was picked up by Whitehall Township Police after she was caught switching tags, then using the self checkout line at the store on Cedar Crest Avenue. Officers also found several unpaid for items in her bags.

A records check turned up outstanding warrants for Koldesko, issued by the court of District Magistrate Stephen Bayer in Tamaqua.

Judge Bayer had sentenced Koldesko to 13 days in the Schuylkill County Prison on charges from cases from 2010 and 2016.

In the 2010 case, she was charged with furnishing alcohol to minors by McAdoo Police. Kline Township Police charged her with passing a bad check in 2016.

She pleaded guilty to both charges in 2018 and was sentenced to the 13 days in jail. She failed to appear at the prison on the scheduled date and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

She will complete her sentence in Lehigh County, then answer to the shoplifting charge.
