Northern Lehigh posted league wins in both boys and girls basketball Friday night.

The Northwestern girls clinched a district playoff berth with a victory, while Lehighton’s wrestling team was also victorious.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Catasauqua-No. Lehigh

Nate Keller had 17 points to help lead Northern Lehigh to a 61-45 Colonial League victory over Catasauqua.

Zach Moyer scored 16 points for the Bulldogs, who improved to 6-5.

Jason Schneck and Derek George each scored nine points for the Rough Riders (1-8).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Northern Lehigh used a big third quarter to help gain a 42-24 Colonial League victory over Catsauqua.

Jada Saeger scored a game-high 17 points for the Bulldogs, who outscored their opponent 10-0 in that third frame.

The winners (4-7) also received eight points from Emily Niebell and seven each from Lauren Hoffman and Madison Seier.

Alexis Rushatz led the way for the Rough Riders with 15 points.

Salisbury-Northwestern

A big first half by Northwestern allowed the Tigers to cruise to a 63-22 Colonial League win over Salisbury.

Sage Christopher scored a game-high 15 points for the winners, who jumped out to a 46-12 halftime advantage and clinched a district playoff berth.

Sidney Sevrain added 12 points, while Kailyn Jones had eight for Northwestern (11-1).

Quinn Wittman led Salisbury with 12 points.

North Schuylkill handed Panther Valley a fourth straight loss, rolling to an 81-52 Schuylkill League Division 1 win.

Katelyn Himes posted 20 points for the Spartans (5-3), who led 43-20 at the intermission. Sarah Agner added 15 points, while Mya Wetzel tallied 12.

Erika Dubosky scored a game-high 25 points for the Panthers (5-4), who hit 10 threes in the game. Megan Pascoe buried four of the team’s treys for 12 points.

Blue Mountain pulled away for a 42-28 Schuylkill League Division 1 win over Lehighton.

Leah Pishock scored 15 points to lead the Eagles (8-3), while Lindsay Kutz also scored in double figures, adding 12 points.

Tinaya Klotz led the Indians (6-4) with seven points. Lillian Brown and Hailey Miller each had six points.

Blue Mountain also won the JV game, 28-21.

Lehighton pulled out a 47-16 non-league victory over Southern Lehigh.

Lukas Ferguson (106), Mason Ferguson (113), Steven Fritzinger (126), Lucas Sangiuliano (132) and Richard Fronheiser (170) all gave the Indians bonus points by recording pins. Logan Pagotto (152) and Alex Zigenfuss (182) won by decision.

Steven Fritizinger (126) and Lucas Sangiuliano (132) also added victories for Lehighton.
