Blue/Quiet Christmas

Blue/Quiet Christmas takes place at 7 p.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford. If you want to celebrate the birth of Christ in a quiet, gentle and hopeful way, this service does just that. For those with heavy hearts, this service offers a sense of peace, healing and hope.

Fourth Sunday of Advent, next Sunday at 9 a.m. at St. John’s. This will be a “dress-down worship” as members decorate after church.

On Christmas Eve, a 7 p.m. Christmas celebration will be held.

Senior Center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Dec. 24-29 is:

Monday: Center closed

Tuesday: Center closed

Wednesday: Minestrone soup, chicken Alfredo, fettuccine, spinach, sorbet or spinach bacon salad

Thursday: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli, cottage cheese with fruit or meatloaf sandwich

Friday: Pork, braised cabbage, cornbread, rice pudding or chef salad with turkey

The center has also announced upcoming events for the remainder of the month.

The center will be closed Dec. 24 and 25; Penny Game on Dec. 26 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Dec. 27 at 11 a.m.; Cards on Dec. 28 at 10 a.m.; New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 31 at 11 a.m.
