Death of man found in Penn Forest ruled accidental

The cause of death of a Montgomery County man found dead in Penn Forest Township over the summer has been ruled accidental.

Contacted Friday morning, Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller said Jeremy Cosmi died from methamphetamine toxicity.

“It was accidental, no signs of any trauma to the head,” Miller said.

Cosmi’s body was found at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 14 in the area of 1700 Route 534 in Albrightsville.

Cosmi, of Souderton, was transported from the scene by the Carbon County Coroner to the Lehigh Valley Medical Center, where an autopsy was performed.

Cosmi had last been seen at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 in the area of Towamensing Trails Road and Route 534.

Officials previously said he was possibly suffering from a head injury and in need of medical attention.

Several days before Cosmi’s body was found, more than 100 volunteers searched for him in Penn Forest Township.
