McAdoo police report on traffic stops

Recent traffic stops in McAdoo resulted in charges being filed, including several for driving under the influence.

• Daniel Clemente, 25, of Hazleton, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and for driving with an expired registration. He was stopped at 8:06 p.m. Sept. 4. Drug tests taken after the stop were positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.

• Luis Rivera-Walker, 37, of McAdoo was stopped at 12:38 a.m. Oct. 6 for driving with a handicap placard hanging from the rear view mirror. Officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search found a green grinder with marijuana residue under the front passenger seat. Rivera-Walker was charged with two counts of DUI after drug tests were positive for THC, as well as the traffic violation. A passenger, Eddie Santos, 20, of McAdoo, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Joe Trochinsky, 46, of Moscow, was stopped for crossing the double yellow lines while slowing down and speeding up erratically on Oct. 11. Blood tests, taken after his poor performance on field sobriety tests, were positive for methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl. He was charged with three counts of driving under the influence and the traffic violations.

• Merilee Pressler, 32, of Hazleton, was stopped for a nonworking head light at 10:43 p.m. Nov. 30. A strong odor of marijuana coming from her vehicle resulted in officers conducting a search. They found a roach with burned marijuana residue along with two pieces of suspected marijuana. She was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and the traffic offense.

• Brian Kolbush, 59, of McAdoo, was stopped at 10:02 p.m. Oct. 1 for driving a vehicle with a loud, possibly faulty exhaust. Officers detected the odor of alcohol on his breath and conducted field sobriety tests. Kolbush was taken for blood tests, which came back positive for alcohol. His blood alcohol content was 0.135 percent. He was charged with two counts of DUI and the traffic offense.

• Keagan Williams, 18, of Beaver Meadows, was in a vehicle stopped at 9:14 a.m. Nov. 4 for a nonfunctioning taillight. He admitted having marijuana in his backpack, which officers recovered. He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
