A Monroe County woman has been charged with robbing and assaulting her mother.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded to Polk Township Road, in Polk Township, at 9:16 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a domestic incident involving a mother and daughter.

On scene the 53-year-old victim told troopers her daughter, Christa Dale, 30, of Effort, tried to rob her of money. She also said Dale struck her in the face causing a swollen black eye. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the West End ambulance unit.

Troopers charged Dale with robbery, theft, simple assault and harassment.
