Holiday Open House

The Carbon Model Railroad Society will hold its Holiday Open House at 529 Ore St., Bowmanstown from 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and 13, and Jan. 3. Will also be open from 1-4 p.m. Nov. 24 and 25; Dec. 1, 2, 8 and 9; and January 5 and 6.

The main HO scale display is in various stages of completion and is an excellent learning tool. The club’s portable HO and N displays will also be in operation and there will be a Model Railroad Yard Sale. Admission is free; donations are welcome. For more information, call Garry at 610-826-6636.

Santa on the Ski Lift

Santa on the Ski Lift is an event sponsored by the Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton from 1-4 p.m. Nov. 24. Santa arrives at 1:30 p.m. This is free for all who attend. Enjoy hot dogs, cookies and hot chocolate.

Christmas in the Park

Come one and all to the Christmas in the Park, sponsored by the Palmerton Holiday Lights Committee, which will be held in the Borough Park on Dec. 1. (Rain date is Dec. 2). The opening ceremony is and noon, and the food and craft vendors will open then. At 12:15 p.m., the S.S. Palmer Elementary School Chorus and the Bell Choir of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will perform.

Visit with Santa in the Park Bandstand from 1-3 p.m. There will be goodie bags for all children and chances on prizes. From 1:15-4 p.m. there will be horse-drawn wagon rides, and from 2-3 p.m. will be a Strolling Brass Quintet.

At 3:15 p.m. the Towamensing Elementary School Chorus will perform, followed by the Holiday Homecoming Chorus at 3:45 p.m. At 4:30 p.m. will be the CACPAC Christmas Carol singalong, and at 4:45 p.m. will be the lighting of 100 decorated Christmas trees.

Donations will be accepted for Toys for Tots, and nonperishable food donations will be accepted for the CACPAC food pantry.

Breakfast with Santa

Come celebrate Saint John Neumann’s Annual Breakfast with Santa Marine Toys for Tots Drive from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 1 at the Palmerton Campus, 259 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Cost is $5 per person for a full hot breakfast as well as many other choices. Pictures with Santa, craft making and a Chinese auction and 50/50. Please bring one unwrapped new toy to help the Marines collect for the children in our county. Please call 610-751-3744 for tickets or details.
