A look back: Nov. 17, 1992

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nesquehoning, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of its founding during a special service of Holy Communion on the Festival of Christ the King on Sunday, Nov. 22.

The Rev. Donald L. Brown, who served the parish from 1963-67, will be the celebrant, while the current pastor, the Rev. David R. Rowe, and the Rev. Carl A. Borger, who was pastor there from 1949-50, will be the homilists.

Assisting ministers will be the Rev. Warren S. Harding, pastor from 1945-48, and the Rev. Kenneth W. Hawk II, a son of the congregation.

The church was founded in 1912, the Rev. F.E. Reichard was its first pastor.
