Monroe man charged with distribution of fentanyl resulting in two deaths

A Monroe County man has been charged with the distribution of fentanyl that resulted in the death of two people.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced that a grand jury in Scranton returned a two-count indictment Tuesday charging Vincent John Ingino, 27, of East Stroudsburg, with drug distribution.

According to United States Attorney David J. Freed, the indictment alleges that on or about Aug. 10 to Aug. 12, Ingino knowingly and intentionally distributed and possessed with intent to distribute controlled substances that included a mixture of acetyl fentanyl, fentanyl and heroin, causing the two deaths.

The charges stem from a joint investigation involving the FBI in Scranton, the Pennsylvania State Police and detectives from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecution is assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Olshefski.

This case was brought as part of a districtwide initiative to combat the nationwide epidemic regarding the use and distribution of heroin.
