Jim Thorpe gained wins in both boys soccer and volleyball in action Saturday.

BOYS SOCCER

North Schuylkill-Jim Thorpe

Three second-half goals lifted Jim Thorpe to a 3-0 Schuylkill League win over North Schuylkill.

Thor Muth had two goals to lead the Olympians (13-4; 9-3), while Alex Putt also scored.

Ryder Wallace assisted on all three Thorpe tallies.

Palmerton-Notre Dame ES

Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg rolled to a 6-1 victory over Palmerton.

Johnny Perloni posted the only goal for the Blue Bombers (5-12; 3-8).

Palmerton keeper Bryce Yacone recorded 15 saves.

Weatherly-Lehigh Valley Christian

Weatherly cruised to a 4-1 non-conference win over Lehigh Valley Christian.

Weatherly moved to 7-10 overall on the season.

GIRLS SOCCER

Wilson-Lehighton

Clare Kennedy’s two goals were all Wilson needed to score a 2-0 non-conference win over Lehighton.

The Indians’ keeper, Becky Serfass, finished with 23 saves.

Warriors goalie Tess Patterson grabbed 18 saves to preserve the shutout victory.

VOLLEYBALL

Weatherly-Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe got the best of Weatherly for a 25-11, 25-12, 25-8 win.

Kelsey Carroll paced the Olympians attack with 16 kills, 14 assists, six aces and four digs, while Brandy Montemuro followed with nine kills, eight digs, five aces and four assists.

Jim Thorpe, the Division 2 wild card, will face Division 3 champion Halifax in the Schuylkill League playoffs today. Play tips off at 5:30 p.m. at Minersville.

Martz Madness Tournament

Panther Valley went 9-0 in pool play, but fell to Pottsville in the semifinal round of the Martz Madness Tournament.

The Panthers received a bye into the semis, where they faced the Crimson Tide.

PV held a 12-9 lead before eventually falling to Pottsville by a 25-17 score.

Marian, which finished second in pool play behind Panther Valley with a 6-3 mark, made it to the quarterfinals but lost to Wilson.

The Fillies received 21 kills from Alivia Karchner in the tourney, while Jamison Wheller had 11. Marian also received 48 assists from Tatianna Zeleniak.
